7The word "Mizrach" literally means east but is used to define the direction - towards Jerusalem - in which the Jews traditionally face during prayer.

The word mizrach sits at the center of this work which is crowned by the phrase "mitzad zeh ruach chaim". which translates as "from this direction (comes) the spirit of life". The initial letters of this phrase - mem, zayin, resh and het - make up the word mizrach.
