Kol Nidre (literally "all my vows") is, perhaps, the most holy of all Jewish prayers. Written in Aramaic, not Hebrew. it is recited in the synagogue at the beginning of the evening service on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

The letter "Shin", at the center of this work, is the first letter of the "Shad-ai" - the holiest of the names of the Almighty.
