The central panel of this work is inspired by the temple facsimile found above the Torah niche at the synagogue at Dura-Europos (in present day Syria and dating from the end of the second to beginning of the third century C. E.)

In standing in prayer from abroad, one should direct ones heart towards the Land of israel; In standing in prayer in the Land of Israel, one should direct ones heart towards Jerusalem; In standing in prayer in Jerusalem, one should direct ones heart towards the Temple; In standing in prayer within the Temple, one should direct ones heart to the Holy of Holies.
